The bottom of my frypans always look black and greasy! I swear I try to get them clean but they never look any better. Have any MoM mums got any tips to bring them back a little?

  • I scrub away with steel wool and it tends to do a good job. I’ve seen a hack using tomato sauce – you leave it on overnight and use a scourer to scrub it off the next day.

  • I have the same issue. I’ll definitely be trying some of these solutions to try find one that works. It’s frustrating when you use super hot water with good detergent and lots of suds

  • If it is black , maybe the non-stick surface is gone and you have unknowlingly left burnt residue on the surface . You can tell if it is still sticking and it not smooth anymore . Mine is left greasy if I don’t wash it well with a good dishwashing liquid and that the oil is have not completely been cleaned off . I ususally wash it properly again and is no longer greasy .

  • I use an oven cleaner, spray it on outside, walk away for half an hour, hose it, then give it a wash and they come up super clean and shiny, no scrubbing at all.

  • for my stainless steel ones (not the non stick ones) I sometimes use metal polish

  • I gave up trying to get the bottoms clean years ago.
