I was wondering what brands of cloth nappies other mums have tryed. How long did you use them for? Did you have any issues with them?

  • We checked out a few and went with cushie tushies. I must admit we didn’t use them that long as I didn’t like the idea of them sitting there dirty and smelly until I had a full load of them to wash (and I didn’t want to wash tiny loads and waste water). For us disposables ended up being more convenient.

  • I loved my modern cloth nappies – wish they had been around for my older kids too. I went for ones from Bits4Bubs (bits4bubs.com.au & on facebook) and another local lady that made them (can’t remember her brand though). They had clips for resizing from newborn to toddler, beautiful microfiber inserts, and some gorgeous material patterns. They also had washable baby wipes and a few other handy products.
I used them until my youngest was toilet trained in the day time, then used undies during the day and cloth nappies again at night until toilet training was finished then too. I didn’t have a problem with washing them. I only had two start to loose water-proofness, but considering how much I used them over the 3 years, it was amazing. (I retired those two for dolls clothes).

Sorry, there is a Bits4bub in Darwin too, when you do a google search, but it has the ‘s’ on the end for the Queensland shop I used – they are not affiliated. I loved supporting an Australian small business!

  • I used target ones for a while but found that I simply didn’t have the time for the soaking. Washing, hanging out, etc.

  • I used target cloth nappies for my babies until they were about 11 months old. I didn’t really have any issue with them – although in saying that I didn’t use they while we were away as i found it too difficult to soak, wash etc. I found that my boys had less nappy rash than other kids of their ages and was so much cheaper.

  • I am pretty sure Target or Big W sells them . Just make sure you get a nappy bucket and napisan as well . My sister in law used them only because she left overs from previous kids and didn’t want to waste them . I would also buy some diaposables for backups as it is not convenient when going out at all .

  • I have ordered some from Little Shoppers a Brand called Babyland. I have yet to try them because my baby is not born yet (due 23rd of April). I do like the feel of them so far. They are reasonably priced.
