Hello!

My little girl is 2 weeks old and I have constant nipple pain, even between feeds. It’s worse when my milk is let-down but it really is constant and feels like hot needles. Is this something that will calm down in time and how long before it does so?
Thanks MoMs

  • your boobs will settle down eventually but if you are concerned, get some advice even from the baby health nurse.

  • Visit your nurse or GP, you might have thrush. I had it with both my bubs & it hurts all the time!

  • Make sure the baby is latching properly otherwise you will constantly have pain.

  • i had some pain for the first month to 6 weeks. have you had bubs latch looked at? did they notice a lip or tongue tie at birth? also try the hydrogel breast pads, they will ease any pan in between feeds. your nipples are going through a massive change, and they arent used to this kind of treatment, unfortunately.
