Hello!

I am trying hard to lose weight after my 4th child but that has proven impossible because all I want to do is eat in the evening. I am good foodwise all day then bam 4pm and I can’t stop eating. Any suggestions how to stop this?!

  • I’m going through the same thing. I way more than my pregnancy weight all because I’m breastfeeding and cannot stop eating. I am never feeling full.

  • Start a 4pm routine that gets you doing something else. A walk maybe or a trip to the shops, anything that will take your mind off of food

  • It takes time and discipline to break bad habits. I feel you because I am similar with my eating habits. Are you eating filling meals with protein? Maybe save yourself a ‘treat’ for the evening. I look forward to an evening Milo with a small chocolate and this helps me get through that evening tendency to want to snack

  • Cups of tea which can help you feel full

  • While you are breastfeeding your body is naturally going to need more fuel to keep going. Try to opt for health foods over junk food. Have a solid breakfast and lunch so come the evening your body wont be craving as much.

  • Make sure your eating sustainable meals during the day and maybe like 3:30 make a fruit smoothie or protein smoothie to curve your cravings?
I always have craving before lunch so instead I make chocolate protein banana smoothie.

    Good luck!

  • Making sure you have some protein in your meals through out the day, i have found helps. Plus I add a timer…. I know it sounds weird, but I time half hour from the time I finish my meal, and keep busy during that time, normally by the time the timer goes off, I’m not hungry. If i am, have a big drink of water, because while breastfeeding, you are getting dehydrated, and sometimes our hungry feelings are because we are dehydrated. Good luck.

  • I am in the same boat ????. I am trying to do some walking, and once exercise is part of my routine maybe I can slowly ease off the food, so hard when feeding though

  • I find eating certain foods that keep me full for longer like oats, nuts and bananas. Maybe do a food plan so you can manage everyday ,

  • Also; water is also good when hungry and staying hydrated.

  • Maybe look at the type of food that is being eaten. Fill up on filling foods that sustain energy levels.

  • Porridge is recommended by some Dieticians. I dice a pear and add to it when it is partly cooked. I don’t completely cook the pear. I leave it crunchy and heated through. I don’t peel it either.

  • Sometimes try to eat some fresh fruits, healthy nuts and drink lots of water.I know i did eat lot while breast feeding.

  • Cant help you …i was lucky to loose all 20kg i gained during each pregnacy while breastfeeding. Maybe choose healthier snacks?

  • You could try eating foods that are more substantial and make you feel fuller? Foods like greek yoghurt and oats. I find that I don’t crave snacks after eating them.
