Hello!

I’m going to put a new kitchen in but I’m not sure to go with a built in wall oven and separate hob or a range cooker. The kitchen is rather small so any advice would be great.

  • Thank you for all your answers much appreciated!

  • Having had both I prefer the all in one. It allows more flexibility for location and I find it easier to use. The plus for the wall oven is not having to bend down to top it things in/take out but I took up lots of wall space

  • Okay my daughter has said, it depends on the floor plan and space you have. But suggests the wall oven because you can get it customerly made to fit the microwave as well which can create more space and room for cabinets for storage. Good Luck :)

  • I think, as well as personal choice, it all depends on the space available and future requirements.
A freestanding range cooker will fit into any space in your kitchen. It can just be slotted into a gap in the cabinets. It stands alone as an appliance and a unit, and you could take it with you to a new home. If you get one, and then decide you want to rejig your kitchen layout, it’s really easy to fit it into your new design.
A built in oven will blend into the design of your kitchen. It won’t stand out as an eye catching appliance, but simply as a feature of one of your cabinets or worktops. If you are tight on space in your kitchen, this takes up barely any.

  • I’d put it in under the range hood to maximise space (I’m an interior designer)

  • My daughter could perhaps answer this! I’m no good at this stuff ;). I will ask her when she is here next. Cabinet making is her job and she works with Kitchens, so I will get back to this question soon.
