Hi Mums, I’m looking to start making newborn gift boxes and am wondering if there are any mums out there that make homemade items or know of a good AUSTRALIAN wholesaler. I’m currently in the research stage and just wanted to get an idea of what’s out there prices etc so I can work out the best items to put into the boxes and start working on price and presentation. If you are interested or know someone that would like their products included please let me know.

  • No but sounds like a fab idea. I’d be willing to support an Aussie made and owned venture!

  • I make knitted booties if that\’s something you\’d be interested in?

  • The is a website called something Australian Made where they only list Australian companies whom make Australian made products of all kinds, from ugg boots to organic beauty & baby products soap and everything in between. I often get an email of them as they run amazing competitions offering Australian made products from local companies. Worth a look, a best of luck with your new venture.

  • Google up whatever you can glean – please keep us informed of your progress as Australian endeavours are what we all want. And if some of the items in your newborn gift box HAVE to be sourced from overseas, please make it known.

  • That is commendable you using local, check faecbook for local suppliers.

  • This sounds like an exciting venture! I’m sorry I can’t help with this, but I’m sure the MoM community would love an update from you down the track, when you’ve got a box ready to go. Best of luck in your endeavour!

  • You could go to your local handmade markets and discuss with them. Alternatively you could also contact sellers on etsy to discuss a wholesale/bulk order. As for a “Wholesaler” I cant really recommend one since the Australian dollar/Us dollar exchange is so poor a lot of them would be exporting. The major wholesalers are all fairly expensive and leave little room for mark up.

If it HAS to be in australia:

  • sorry i can’t help you here. good luck I hope you find some people to help.
