Can babies have bread with honey in it?

Hello!

I know that under 12 months babies can’t have honey but what about a bread with honey in it, if it’s cooked bread made with some honey is that ok?

I wouldn’t give honey till they’re over 12 months old and then would prefer not to cook honey as it loses it’s benefits when heated.

If your uncertain I wouldnt do it I didnt know they couldn’t have honey on bread

I’ve been wondering the same thing about eggs. No egg whites til after 12 months, but what about all the products (eg cakes) that have egg in them?

I wouldn’t give honey at all until 12 months or after. Doesn’t matter how you give it to them.

No honey is not suitable for babies under 12 months because honey can, very occasionally, contain a spore of a bacterium called clostridium botulinum. This can cause a rare form of food poisoning (botulism) in babies.
