Hello!

I know that under 12 months babies can’t have honey but what about a bread with honey in it, if it’s cooked bread made with some honey is that ok?

  • I wouldn’t give honey till they’re over 12 months old and then would prefer not to cook honey as it loses it’s benefits when heated.

  • No they can’t.

  • If your uncertain I wouldnt do it I didnt know they couldn’t have honey on bread

  • Not until 12 months.

  • I’ve been wondering the same thing about eggs. No egg whites til after 12 months, but what about all the products (eg cakes) that have egg in them?

  • I wouldn’t give honey at all until 12 months or after. Doesn’t matter how you give it to them.

  • No honey is not suitable for babies under 12 months because honey can, very occasionally, contain a spore of a bacterium called clostridium botulinum. This can cause a rare form of food poisoning (botulism) in babies.
