Hello!

How can I get my home in order? I have 2.5 and 1 year old and I feel like I’m struggling to keep my head above water. I feel completely disorganized and my house is constantly a shambles. I have recently discovered the huge benefit of meal planning but I’m wondering what other mums do/ use to make their life easier. Looking for ideas like routines, organizational tools, apps etc.. Basically anything that has made a big difference to your daily life.

  • I clean as I go and it does seem to keep the mess down to a managable level.

  • Something we have to all deal with as mothers I guess. Try a little system that works for you and don’t be too hard on yourself.

  • I think first you need to declutter and simplify things. That’s something I’m in the process of doing myself.

  • Routines are great! Really interesting comments read on this!

  • Basically, find yourself some sort of routine. Not a strict one as that will never work with 2 small children. And relax, we’ve all been there xxx

  • Stress less and just do your best and enjoy while your babies are still small ;)

  • I try do small task so 30seconds left on the microwave see how much I can do etc,

  • I got rid of 100 things being paper, old towels, whatever you haven’t used in a while do every week you do the cleaning up. Your house soon looks great and you are more a where and wont buy things you don’t need. Saving money.

  • I clean every day before work (I work afternoons) which stops the mess becoming so huge it’s like taking on godzilla! I’m up early, get brekky ready and put in a load of washing, we eat and go out for a walk while that is washing. Come home and hang it out, kids amuse themselves because they have already had some exercise, I go over the floor with the vacuum and do a quick mop using disposable floor wipes. When it’s time for the bigger jobs like cleaning out the cupboards I enlist the help of the rest of the household which makes it less of a chore!

  • washing on at night, tidy up when kids are in bed, vacuum and hang out washing in the morning. I also load and put my dishwasher through at night.

  • I outsourced my cleaning to someone else so I didn’t feel I had to do everything myself!

  • Don’t push yourself to do everything at once …. tackle jobs one at a time. eg, kitchen cupboards one day … and so on … just do one thing a day … when the kids are in bed this is time to sort their clothes. put their toys in their rooms … and teach them to pick them up with you helping …

  • Hope everything worked out for you.

  • there are some good comments here
