Hello!

How can I improve my energy levels? I eat well & sleep like the dead at night but every day I wake up tired. I have no energy to do anything. For example, yesterday I had a 2 hour nanny nap but was still in bed at 9.30 pm sleeping through until 7.40am. Woke up today exhausted. I eat lots of fruit & veg but generally I’m just tired all the time.

  • May I suggest a visit to your GP? A routine blood test may find you are lacking in some vitamins and/or minerals

  • The first step is a visit to your GP for routine check-up. He/she will probably order blood tests. If you just take multi-vitamins as a trial you could end up with surplus of some and that could make you ill. It isn’t always iron deficiency. In fact some people have iron overload because their liver makes too much iron and don’t realise it until it makes them ill. Its medical name is Haemochromotisis. It is often hereditary. In some people it causes fatigue.

  • get a check up at the doctor! could be something serious!

  • I find regular exercise helps my energy levels..

  • Get checked out for low vitamin b 12

  • You should actually go get yourself checked by the Dr. If you want to try other things first, maybe include a multivitamin into your routine.

  • Also, it may pay to get yourself checked for Sleep Apnoea, because if you suffer from that, it means that you’re not sleeping well or soundly, and you will always be tired during the day, no matter how many hours you think you’re “sleeping”.

  • A full blood test would be a good idea to see if there’s any underlying medical conditions that you’re not aware of. Low iron levels, or thyroid problems can drain your energy so quickly, yet they’re both easy to fix. Having a portable “snack” box with you, with some dried fruit & nuts is good for a burst of energy when you’re out and about. Try chia seeds in fruit smoothies too, because that really helped me with energy boosts.

  • Have you had your iron levels checked? I would make an appointment with your gp and have to have blood work done. It may be nothing but it worth making sure

  • there are some good comments here

  • Maybe are u lacking in iron! Or hv a coke or coffee?

  • Maybe you need a tonic or multivitamin.

  • Berrocca is always good to use.

  • Stress was recently the reason for my lack of energy but it might an idea to have a check at the doctors for iron.

  • Sounds like me! A blood test may be in order..
