  • I always do, I just chop up my veggies first and then my meat is done last :)

  • For peace of mind I would use separate ones. It doesn’t cost much to buy separate chopping boards for each- three or four dollars will get you a set of plastic ones from the cheap shops.

  • Well, I only own one chopping board, so veggies get done first, then meat. It is well scrubbed under very hot water as soon as meat is chopped, then washed normally with the dishes. About once a week I give it a bleach soak, more often if needed. I have never had anyone get sick.

  • No,, as a professional cook this is a big no no. It doesn’t matter if you clean the board between use the bacteria from meat but especially chicken can still be present in the actual board after cleaning. Its really important to use separate boards for meat/ seafood/ fruit & veg, there is also the element of cross contamination and allergy issues to think about but that’s a whole other conversation! You can purchase packs of colour chopping boards quite cheaply which are an extremely great idea!

  • You should use separate boards for meat and Veg, especially raw chicken and pork, they contain germs that if not properly cleaned before cutting other foods it can cause salmonella .

  • Scrubbing doesn’t always guarantee getting rid of the germs. You’re better off having colour coded boards and keeping everything separate.

  • I cut my vegies first then meat but depends on what meat your using chicken i use a yellow board only for chicken and wash it straight away
