Does anyone have any recommendations on brands of carpet cleaners or cleaners you can make yourself which will remove all sorts of stains such as dirt and milk? Anything for any carpet stains? Thank you

  • I also needed the answer as well, good suggestions!

  • I use a Bissell carpet cleaner, although I think a steam cleaner would probably do a better job.

  • I have a steam cleaner. They’re not an instant stain remover, but with regular use, they take care of most stains eventually. Then there’s good old bi carb. Sprinkle on stain, rub in with warm water. Leave to dry and vacuum. Spot test in hidden bit first

  • I use liquid dishwasher applied direct to stain and massaged in then sponge with warm water and most important step is I then use my steam mop on the stain. I remove the cloth on base and only use metal base. I find it removes all my stains but on an odd occassion I have to repeat these steps. Good luck.

  • Electro dry is the best

  • I use the steam mop to clean my carpets. It’s safe and sanitary and doesn’t use chemicals. There are a number of tyoes on the market, it’s just a matter of doing a bit of homework as to which brand suits your household needs.

  • I would reccomend using vanish preen works so well on our carpet

  • EleCtrodry

  • I always used dishwashing liquid and warm water asap and that always seemed to work for me.
Im pleased that we only had rugs and not full carpet though.

  • I use Vinegar and one drop of detergent for spot stains works fantastic

  • fill a spray bottle with equal parts ammonia and water, spray the stain, place an old white cloth over the stain (i used an old nappy) then iron with a hot iron & watch the dirt soak into the cloth, damn amazing !!!

  • If you have the money I recommend buying the Bissell carpet cleaning machine from godfreys. My mum did and use it ALL the time and its amazing. Carpets smell and look fantastic for a while (until the kids make a mess again lol)

  • Definitely Paul’s Cleaning – . If anyone can remove all sorts of stains it is these guys. Most important lesson is to not rub and use inappropriate solutions as they seal stain in the fibres of the carpet. They advised me when my niece came down with a stomach flu and threw up on our carpet. I was in shock as the carpet is made from wool and didn’t know what to do. When I called they told me exactly what to do and most importantly what NOT to try. No company did that before. When they came I was amazed – the real colours of my carpet unveiled!!
