I have a bit of dilemma, my daughters birthday party is this Saturday and her Godmothers daughter has come down with chickenpox a very very mild case. My question is – how do I say do not come without being rude? If it was my daughter and we were going to their place I would just say no sorry we can’t come and this is why. I’m not worried about my own daughter it’s the other 4 kids that are Coming (kids parents all Know one another) that I’m More concerned about. Help please I’m in a awkward position!!

Ask your question
  • Its more rude for her to bring a kid with CP than for you to ask her not to come.

  • Your kids come first i’d be straight up about it

  • Don’t beat around the bush come straight out with it, you would hope she would be practical and say sorry we can’t come..

  • Just tell them, honey. Kids health is THE priority here, not a mum getting snitty over being asked not to come. In saying that, I had CP as a kid, as did my brother….we’re both alive n kicking

  • I would never take my children out when they have chickenpox :/

  • Wow, if one of my children had chicken pox I wouldn’t dream of taking her to a birthday party. Perhaps you can suggest dropping in a piece of birthday cake to her and ignore the fact that she’s planning to still attend, she might get the hint.

  • I thought she’d be keeping her away anyway without you asking!

  • I hope all worked out well for you

  • It is an awkward position but I think it’s best to be honest and say exactly how you feel.

  • stay away poor grabn you dont want that to spread

  • Hope it all went well

  • A very serious issue. I hope you have found some helpful suggestions here.

  • Hope it all worked out for you.

  • I hope you told her and she understood the situation

  • I would suggest something to them
