There are lots of fun and educational toys and games available. I loft the soft books made from material with lots of interactive and fine motor activity. Also loved those large foam blocks for climbing
My son got a toy laptop and it was great as it entertained him while the rest of us were opening our presents. Yes the song was kind of annoying, but not as annoying as a 1 year old can be! That was the only thing we got him.
If you have the money a smart trike is a great investment. I found the my kids liked to sit in it for longer and much more than they did a pram. It’s kind of half bike and half pram. At 1 they are generally starting to walk so items that encourage being active like balls and walk alongs make fun educational pressies too.
In my previous post I said depending on the gender, but really both can play with cars and trucks, I meant depends on the childs interests
My son got this scout dog from his grandparents for his first Christmas and he LOVES it sings, education, and its personalised to say your childs name and a few other things.
Educational toys suitable for that age/development, books, play tent, ride on car/bike, puzzles, clothes, depending on the child’s sex but my one year old loves playing with cars and trucks. My list could go on, just depends what you already have, what you think they will actually use/need.
Books are nice but this age will not remember the gift or Christmas or their 1st birthday. They are too young. So dont stress. Being there is more important than gifts.
A name puzzle would be nice! We got one for our daughter for her first Christmas. She liked to look at the colours, and now that she’s older she loves puzzles so it’s always had some use.
