  • Salad, prawns, cold chicken or combination of cold meats. You can make up different salads like rice salad or potato salad etc. The choice is endless and doesn’t cost too much.

  • I love doing a hot meat and then cold salads. We do 3-4 different salads and then eat them the next few days.

  • As kids in very hot weather and no aircondtioning my Grandma used to make lots of delicious salads and have plenty of pre-cooked meats. None of us liked seafood. The house got way too hot and none of us enjoyed hot food especially when the large fan decided not to work any more. Dessert was usually a choice of heated Christmas Pudding with Custard or Icecream; fresh Fruit Salad or stewed fruit, icecream and jelly if we chose to have it. Later was an additional option of cheesecake. If we still there at afternoon time we sometimes had fruit mince pies or the left over dessert.

  • Ready to go roast in the oven, potatoes and some side salads and a dessert – maybe pavlova or pudding and custard

  • A roast chicken & salads.

  • Some ready to cook food or some sea food its really easy and quick and delicious as well

  • a
A frozen cassata dessert that can be made in advance is a really delicious alternative to a plum pudding on Christmas Day. It looks spectacular and tastes good too!

  • Since it is always a hot day we go with Salad, chicken hams and prawns. Plus extras like cocktail onions, pineapple, rice salad, potato salad also. Just more refreshing. For desert we have fruit salad and ice cream.

  • We tend to go with seafood options, prawns, a big barramundi…or a ham :) we make a few salads to go with it…a bean and tomato salad, garden salad and a coleslaw or potato salad :)

  • I’d suggest a roll of beef or pork over chicken or turkey because they take up less room in the over so you could do 2 or 3, ample for 10. Get those cooked early and put aside, cook/roast the veg in the juices and make the gravy. SImple!

  • I cook a massive turkey with roast vegetables for christmas and serve it with gravey. I put on the turkey first thing in the morning and have the vegetables pre cut (which are soaking in water) until they need to be cooked. Roasts are always so simple as you put them on and leave them to just cook. More time to spend with loved ones. We also have cold ham with it, and I have over 10 people each Christmas.

  • I would probably go with a big pie, full of vegetables and minced beef.
Or you could do some baked salmon with pastry around it.
You could decorate the pastry with stars to make it Christmassy.
