  • I just use hot soapy water.

  • I squirt some dishwashing liquid on it and scrub it with my dishwashing scrub . Don’t use the green scourers as some material might come loose onto the board. Then drain it in the dishrack to dry . It always do the trick and comes out clean

  • Hot water and soap, however if I cut raw chicken I put it through the dishwasher as well

  • Salt and oil for wooden boards and plastic just goes in the dish washer.

  • Use an antibacterial spray and a hard scrubbing brush

  • Some really useful answers there.

  • I think you will find that in the butchers they will use a bleach solution to kill the bacteria.

  • I have plastic boards and I just pop them into the dishwasher. I love my dishwasher and use it for the boards, sponges and of course the dishes.

  • I just give them a scrub with bicarb then washup as normal

  • I only use my wooden boards for bread, and the odd tomato , I wash in hot soapy water, if they need a scrub then salt and oil. i also regularly oil them. plastic ones I use bleach on. Have a set of diferent coloured ones for dif foods. You can also sand out scratches. Melamine boards work well too.

  • Cut a large lemon in half and sprinkle some salt on the chopping board. Then use the lemon to vigoursly wipe over your chopping board.
The salt acts as a scourer type agent.

  • bleach on plastic and wood (im not sure if its good for the woods longevity but it kills the bacteria!)

  • I use Bleach on the plastic ones and than rinse with hot water and always let them air dry on a dish rack, as a rule I never use wood boards the bacteria that can live happily in the wood is just not funny!

  • I USE LEMON JUICE ON MINE…I FIND IT WORKS A TREAT

  • I heard salt and oil is great for wooden chopping board so my father said (he use to make wooden chopping boards)
