  • If you are having Chemotherapy you may find that nothing tastes right.
I was told that only thing that tasted nice was a small amount of stewed rhubarb with a lot of apple in it. The apple neutralises the acid of the rhubarb. Some “species” of apples are sweet enough that you can eat them stewed without adding sugar. You could try stewed pears. I knew a gentleman who was diabetic. His wife cooked stewed Pears without sugar when we were holidaying with them.
I also know a patient who couldn’t eat even the tiniest amount of tomato in any food at all.

  • Rice pudding is a lovely comfort food. You don’t have to put sugar in it. The milk and cream are naturally a little sweet. You could always add some sultanas too :)

  • I can’t think of desserts that don’t involve sugar – maybe look for recipes designed for diabetics.

  • Not sweet but anything with mashed potato was a winner here.

  • Pretty much anything in the slow cooker. You also get to enjoy the smell of the food cooking
