Hello!

10 mth DD power chucked 2x tonight about 1 hour after dinner & just after her last breadtfeed. I gave her some cheese to chew on yesterday & with dinner tonight. She has had cheese with or in meals before & I haven’t noticed a change. She is breastfed & hasn’t had any reactions to anything else. Has anyone experienced something similar? Could she be lactose intolerant? She has a little milk & hot water in cereal & loves yoghurt. Her No. 2s have been very runny & dark cream colour. Sorry for TMI. Shall I avoid all dairy or just cheese?

  • Possibly she is a bit young to have milk and cheese as the gut needs to mature.
When symptoms occur you could start with a liitle diary of her intake and what come out (describing colour, frequency and consistency). Then when you suspect an intolerance start to cut out and keep making notes. When you’re still concerned I would seek advice from your Gp who can make referrals if needed

  • What was the outcome? I thought it was recommended to have no cows milk until after 12 months

  • very simple test at doctors now – don’t muck around, as it will get worse if it is an intollerance

  • How did you end up going? i am keen to know!!

  • Did you find out if she is lactose intolerant?

  • maybe trial and error. Remove the dairy and then after a day or two try her on one and see if you get the same result

  • how are things going now?

  • how did she go? :)

  • Did you find out what it was – I would have checked with the Doctor

  • Did you find out if she was?

  • How is she going now?

  • Did you end up avoiding both or just the cheese?

  • If you are at all worried, no harm in checking with you doctor.

  • Hopefully everything has righted itself by now.

  • How is she now? :)
