Hello!

PLEASE DONT TELL ME TO WASH MY FACE, CYSTIC ACNE IS 90% HORMONAL. I have cystic acne. I have a fantastic skin routine, My skin is young looking, hardly any wrinkles for my age (mid 30’s) I hardly wear make up these days and when I do, it’s only light coverage. In the past 15years, I have suffered cysts more often then not, and on occasion they have become infected, once landing in th ED with golden staph. Right now my face is extremely sore, and my lower face is covered in large blind cysts, it’s infected most likely another staph infection so on antibiotics for 2 weeks.
To others with cystic acne, is any one on any long term medication that isn’t birth control (not worked for me and I’m hormonal sencitovr) that has helped control these disfiguring break puts.

  • I have suffered with adult acne on and off for the past 10 years. I ended up getting a prescription from my GP for Epiduo cream. It’s extremely strong so need to keep it away from eye area but it seriously changed my life. If you haven’t already, give it a try and hopefully you get great results too

  • See a dermatologist. It was a life saver for my teenager with cystic acne. He was put on Roaccutane and it cleared him up. He feels so more confident in himself and I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome for him.

  • I’m sorry you are going through this. Have a look what ingredients are in what you are using as that can probably make it worse. You mentioned it’s hormonal a Dermatologist may help with the skin but you probably need to see Gynecologists they help out with hormonal imbalance. I personal think once you get that sorted you will see some difference.

    All the best .

  • I would see a dermatologist. The only thing that worked for me and still is, is Roaccutane. Dermatologists can recommend some prescription creams that will also help.

  • I feel your pain ???? i suffered from cystic acne from age 13 through to my early 40s. It was a nightmare, I tried SO many products, some helped for a little while but most had no effect. Then I was prescribed Roaccutane. Life safer! Cleared everything up within in weeks and here I am, nearly 10 years later, still cystic acne free. I highly recommend you look into it ????

  • not sure if it helps but… ive been suffering from adult acne and cystic pimples, ive noticed since ive stopped drinking coffee my skin hasnt broken out as much, im not sure if its do with the caffeine or milk but ill take it.

  • Cant help you but wishing u all the best.
