Hello!

My child is allergic to all nuts, dairy, eggs, sesame and crab. I am struggling to find dessert ideas for him for birthdays, I don’t like cooking so easy options are best. I have tried a few but he didn’t like them.

  • maybe try getting a paleo cookbook and going through that. another suggestion that was good was fruit – process it and freeze it to make icy-poles. you can do all sorts of wonderful flavours.

  • I know it may sound boring but I think fruit is your friend. Frozen bananas blended into a nice smooth ice cream with a bit of dark chocolate sprinkled on top. Also, we love wedges of mango with a skewer in them and frozen like an icypole. And you may need to fact check but Oreos are apparently vegan so they might be good to use in some way.

  • I had to make a birthday cake for my neighbours little boy that couldn’t have dairy, eggs etc. there is a fantastic cupcake mix from a company called yes you can. It is just like real cake and can be baked as a whole cake or cupcakes. I made this with the ogran egg replacer and it worked perfectly. Good luck

  • Ive seen a fair few avacado brownie recipes with ingredients you can alter with apple sauce and what not which could be great for you. My kids love them they dont taste like avacado i no you dont like cooking but its really just throw in a bowl, mix and bake.

  • Jelly cups! You can find some great ways to decorate them online

  • If you want to make cake or custard there is packet mixes. The brand name is “Well and Good” They are easy to make and taste delicious. However I’m not sure if the cake requires eggs or not. From memory you can just add water to the custard powder.
There is a site called taste.com.au which has some good simple to make recipes. Some of them are Gluten Free and Dairy Free. If the recipes list Soy Milk you can substitute it for another type of non dairy milk. I know a lady who uses UHT Almond Milk. You can buy sweetened or sweetened. On the site there is a “box” where you can type in………………….free

  • Vegan recipes would be great for him. Some of them are really simple.

  • Jelly cups with fruits inside ( just not pineapple or kiwifruit)

    Fruit sorbet (like ice cream)

  • Have you tried jelly in fancy shapes, or fruit cut into interesting shapes?

  • What about coconut milk made into a icy pole and also coconut cream with fruit. Just hope they are not allergic to coconuts.
I am sure there would be some wonderful ideas other mums who have children that are allergic to some or all of what your child is would be able to help you with making some delicious treats.

  • You can easily make your own icecream from frozen mango and coconut vanilla yoghurt. Look at the ingredients but many puff pastry sheets have no diary but oil. Otherwise it’s easy to make yourself from coconut butter and gluten free flour. An easy pastry base for example is 2 cups flour,
1/2 tsp sea salt, 2/3 cup coconut oil (scoopable // not liquid)*3-6 Tbsp ice cold water. Pastry is easy to fill with apple/pears and cinnamon and some dried fruit if you like. It’s easy to make muffins, cookies, brownies etc diary-, gluten-, nut-, egg-, and fish free.

  • How about a carved fruit “cake”
