Hello!

My baby is 14 months and still doesn’t have any teeth. My husband didn’t get teeth till around 11 months so my GP wasn’t to concerned about it when we spoke about it at his 12 month check up but said to revisit it if he doesn’t have any by 15 months. Did anyone else’s child here get teeth really late?

  • D1 was over 12 mths before she got her 1st tooth… so expecting the same from our 2nd child

  • My LO got when he was around 9th month.

  • My boy’s first tooth popped out around 8 months, then nothing for a while and now they’re coming one after the other. We recently had 2 bottom molars cut (16 1/2 months) and can see the top molars swelling as well as his eye teeth.

All kids seem to go at different paces and different teething orders, I wouldn’t worry too much about late teething unless your GP has issues with it.

  • My little one has been right on schedule with most of his teeth. Every child is different so I wouldn’t worry too much, especially if your MHN is not concerned.

  • My boys were extermely early. Both had a full set by their 1st birthday! Little sharkies lol

  • My daughter only began getting her teeth really late and the dentist said, it was a blessing as she would be older and more able to look after her adult teeth.

  • I remember being told that my boys go teeth late at about 8 – 9 months. It has worked out quite well though as they are still losing baby teeth at 14!

  • My daughter is just over 7 months and starting to cut her first tooth. As they always say every child is different so you cant base it on other experiences. Im sure theyll come soon. All the best :)

  • Your child is an evolutionary process! You only get one set of baby teeth and then one set of permanent teeth. As you’re child’s teeth have come in “later” than others, they are more likely to last longer (evolutionary speaking). This is what my dentist told my mum as all of us 3 kids had “late” teeth. My daughter didn’t get her first tooth until she was around 13 months and my son was around 12 or 13 months. Didn’t stop them eating everything though. Must run in my family as my nephew lost his last baby tooth when he was in year 10!!

  • My oldest son had all his teeth including the 2 year old molars by the time he was 1, my second son will be 2 very soon and we are still missing teeth

  • around 5-6 month but every child is different. just wait and see how you go.

  • All of mine were different. One had teeth by 4 months one by 6 months and the other was 11 months. If you are concerned see your child and family nurse.

  • Everyone is different ..my daughter teethed late my son early. I was told that the later the teeth the better the quality but not sure if that’s true..both have great teeth, do believe it’s up to how you look after them. If bub is too much longer, a visit to the dentist may help.

  • I probably wouldn’t be too concerned, especially with the family history. Each child develops at their own rate. My child popped out 4 teeth at a time, and apparently that wasn’t ‘correct’ either!
