Hello!

My little one reacts to eggs, I’ve heard they can grow out of it. What age did your little one grow out of an egg allergy or intolerance?

  • My nephew grew out of his egg allergy, not sure what age maybe when he started school. My dad and brother also grew out of their egg allergies

  • Most children with egg allergies do grow out of it after a couple of years. You can get them tested to see which part of the egg they are allergic to.

  • Yes, my daughter had one till she was about 11 months, however when my sister was little she also had an egg allergy and it took her 5 years to get over it.

  • Yes they can grow out of it. I think it varies with each child, but I would say about 2 years if they are not allergic to it. When we celebrated my sons christening, I gave a teaspoon of pavlova not thinking about the egg. A few minutes later he came up in a rash around his mouth. He wasn’t complaining about it, which was good.
I tried him on scrambled egg every 4-6 mths to see if he was still having a reaction and by the time he was 2 he had grown out of it! Scrambled eggs is one of his favourite dishes.
