  • First of all model good behaviour yourself and praise when they show the good behaviour.
There are plenty of techniques to correct behaviour you don’t like to see , like just telling this is not what we like to see/ saying no, make up house rules together and be clear in the boudaries, ignoring, redirecting, time out, taking away something what they like (ipad/tv etc), positive behaviour chart with points for a reward,

  • Boundaries are important. We try to be as consistent as possible and have a zero policy on hitting, kicking, spitting, pulling hair and being rough with things. Everything else we kinda don’t sweat too much on. If our kids do anything like that they get timed out in their room.

  • time out to cool down but my kids don’t really fight and i am lucky.

  • Thanks heaps for your answers

  • taking away something sounds good, letting them know when they are good again they can have it back

  • I try the take a favourite item from them for a few days, or limit their TV time, cancel a play date or sleep over. Really depends on the bad behaviour and what’s happening that day. No physical punishment tho and I try and not shout

  • Physical punishment is not allowed and any type of physical aggression is unacceptable. Children need to be taught to use their words and parents are the role models.

  • We talk about everything and work it out.

  • This is a tough one – we use redirecting behaviour, positive reinforcement of good behaviour and similar. No physical punishment at all.
