Hello!

“Hi there, just wondering if you coulp please ask your network of mums for some help….. Of late my dishwasher is leaving a milky coloured stained around the rim of some of my glasses, its actually about half a centimeter down from the actual lip of the glass but it encircles the whole circumfrance. Dishwashing liquid wont get rid of it. I dont want to throw glasses away but its really unsightly. Any suggestions on how to clean it off and what might be causing it?”

  • Use good quality dish washing liquid

  • Oh, I know this one!!! Rinse aid – a good brand, and some dishwashers let you adjust the amount released each wash, so google, or check manual to see if yours does. Also, guy that sold me mine said tablets are crap and only use powder. A really good clean – can use vinegar from memory double check, or a commercial cleaner on a long hot wash, and clean all the removable filters and seals to ensure there is no bacteria.

  • Good topic! Really interesting comments read on this!

  • This happened to me too, rinse aid helps and I’m overdue to clean the dishwasher. Rinsing everything before loading helps

  • i think try to clean out the dishwasher and see if you need to change what you use in it

  • try a gentle rub with salt to get the stain off the glasses

  • Give your dishwasher a good clean with vinegar. Then clean your glasses in vinegar to get rid of the build up.

  • I would try rinsing your glasses in vinegar to remove the stains. Definately change your dishwasher powder.

  • there are some good comments here

  • Some good advice there below.

  • Your dishwasher needs a good clean! Run some rinse aid or bicarb and vinegar, I think its a buildup of lime or calcium, the frequency you will need to clean your dishwasher also depends on the hardness of your water too.

  • Try using some rinse aid?

  • I’ve never heard of this before (or had it) but I would clean my dishwasher, clean the filters, put the rinse aid in and maybe look at changing the detergent.

  • How did you end up going?

  • how did it go? :)
