Hello!

I was told by a nurse both in a clinic and hospital that Cough and Cold medicines for children don’t work. SO why is it sold and so much advertising is put into it

  • Cough medicines are not useful in treating cough in children; in fact, recent studies suggest that some cough medicines may be harmful to younger children. Cough medicines should not be used in children younger than six years old.


  • They definitely don’t work. And actually cough is good as it brings up the mucus from the lungs. If it gets stuck there it could infect


  • I agree that cough syrups doesn’t work.


  • Alot of vitamins and supplements don’t have much regulation around them so they can sell what they like.


  • Cough medicines don’t cute a cough. They do help the symptoms though. An expectorant for example helps the cough up phlegm which reduces a chest infection happening
