Would love to know everyone’s experience with baby sprinkles for second baby’s. We aren’t finding out the gender for this bub so I’m thinking it’s not worth the hassle but would also love to celebrate this little bub.

  • If you want one and you have friends and family that would support it – go for it! Lots of people have celebrations for subsequent children. I haven’t had a shower for any of my 3 pregnancies, but I hate being the centre of attention.

  • It’s your decision. I didn’t have for any of my kids as I didn’t feel like doing that- i am not really a fan of gender reviling and baby showers party.

  • I think any chance for a celebration is a reason to have one!

  • I had a baby Q for our 4th baby only because I didn’t want anything to big and because she was our first girl! It was an amazing day and it was as stressful as a normal baby shower/sprinkle would be. Nice and chill

  • I have three children, and never had a baby shower. But, if someone wants to throw you one I would accept. Any excuse for a party and a get together!!

  • I never had a baby shower for my first 2 but friends threw me a surprise one for my last baby. I’ve never really been interested in them for myself

  • Life is too short not to celebrate the happy moments! If you want to celebrate your new baby do it! You could always say no gifts or ask for vouchers to use in the future when bub is born for nappies/wipes etc. Or maybe make a list of board books you want/don’t have for the new baby and each guest can choose one & write inside from them.

  • Do you mean baby shower? I didn’t have it for any of kids.

  • I had a very small afternoon tea with three close friends – so small, and intimate, but it felt like celebrating.

  • Glad I’m not the only person who didn’t know what a sprinkle was.. if you want one, do it. It would be kind of nice to also celebrate the other sibling becoming an older brother/sister.. that’s also a big step for them.

  • You don’t need a ‘sprinkle’ to celebrate a baby. Do something different, just with family and/or friends. Something that doesn’t require formalities and gifts.

  • Why not just have a girl’s day and celebrate the pregnancy?

  • Personally I didn’t have one for my second and third babies but each to their own. I had so much stuff from my first that I didn’t really need anything more.
Sometimes it’s nice to have an excuse to catch up and have a gathering of those close to us though.

  • I think it’s a nice way to catch up and celebrate the pregnancy it’s up to you if you ask for gifts or not.

  • My work family have baby sprinkles for second babies, but no one really has a big event. If you want to celebrate it though why not have a small party with some family and close friends.
