Hello!

I recently read about putting a chopped onion in your room or slicing it and putting it on the bottom of your feet covered by socks. Apparently this rids you of flu etc. In one article the lady said she has done it for her son every fever/illness and he hasn’t needed antibiotics ever since! I’ve been sick about three times this winter and figure it’s a pretty harmless thing to try but I’m curious if anyone else out there has done this?

  • It is harmless, maybe just feel like a dunce if doesn’t work. But trial and error is how these remedies are found out! Garlic in meals cooked often is best for winter.


  • My family were always sick in the winter. You would finally be getting over a cold and bam the process starts over again and we would all be sick again. I read on facebook that onion it was unsafe to reuse a copped onion because the collect the toxins in the air and its a proven study. So last year I figured what could it hurt I copped 4 onions in half and placed them around the house. We all still get sick but its not nearly as often or as bad. I change them once a month but notice when we are having an off week they need to be changed weekly. We also now do this all year not just in the winter. Hope this helps xx


  • Not as far as I know, my friend did the feet thing and it just left her with smelly feet, not help at all.

  • Yes yes and yes. I use cut onions everywhere. Fridge. Kids bedrooms in winter and my feet at night time. I haven’t had a cold or even a sniffle this wintery winter

  • I am a bit skeptical but hey it wont hurt you, so maybe give it a go.
    You have mentioned you have been sick about three times this winter so I would suggest a course of Echinacea to help boost up your immune system.
