Mums, do you gift yourself something for Christmas? I know Christmas is all about giving, but am I being selfish to want a gift for me too? My hubby and kids pretty much leave all the present buying to me and if I don’t buy something for myself, I go without. Am I the only one who has to gift myself something? I’m open to ideas and would love to hear what other families do. Thanks!

  • One for you, one for me should be every Mum’s motto…lol

  • Hell yes! You are worth it. I buy myself a few things whilst out buying presents for the family.

  • We let each other know what we would like for Christmas, and if either of us find it on sale thats who will buy it. My husband found shoes this year he loved, and saw them during the Black Friday sales $100 off! So he bought them and I wrapped them for him, Team work!

  • I’m glad that plenty of mums make sure they get spoiled :)

  • You’re not alone. It slightly makes me upset but I do wish my family would put effort in like I do to get me a surprise to unwrap on Christmas. I love the thought put into making someone feel included.

  • Totally buy yourself something. A) because it means you actually get something
    B) it means you will like what you get
    C) it will make you happy.
    Enjoy :)

  • I have no qualms about buying myself a present for Christmas. My late husband did have an excuse as he was working all the time and we do live in a rural community. He would just apologise for not getting me anything and give me money to spend on what ever I wanted. Then along came the internet and he would buy me something that he thought I’d love and he was generally right. Wonder how your husband would feel if he didn’t get a gift? Go on girl, spoil yourself and make sure the tag says it’s to you from them picked by you.

  • I don’t think it’s selfish at all.
I’m sorry your hubby doesn’t buy you anything himself. Maybe subtly drop a hint that he should starting from this year?!

  • I’ve given up dropping heavy hints, the response is “if you want it, buy it’ so, yes, I’m in the same boat as you and buy myself a gift each year!

  • I do all the shopping too. I try to hint to the males in the house simple ideas like a book I would like to read. I get quite anxious leading up to Christmas, doing everything. It’s not wrong to want something x

  • Not really. I am looking forward to receive one.

  • Yup I buy them all including my own to give to hubby to give to me.
Be nice to have a surprise of not knowing what I’m getting but never happens lol

  • Christmas is a big expensive time and I try to make it special for my family. I don’t really need for material things, but i try to do something nice for myself like take time to have a quiet coffee with a book or paint my nails. Small unimportant things but they are things I often don’t have time to do properly.

  • It’s a bit wrong your hubby doesn’t get you something! I usually give mine ideas of things that I want or just come out and say ‘please get me this’, however he usually buys me little surprises and stocking stuffers on his own from things he knows I like. Your hubby is a big boy and should at least get you something even if you do all the other presents.

  • Ummmmm…. maybe! Sometimes! If I see something I know that nobody will buy me! Allright…. YES! YES! YES!
