I prefer traditional names especially with the correct spelling. I see so many kids with names that are spelt uniquely and they really struggle at school when learning to write and spell.
I like both but you have to think about when the baby will be an adult! Traditional names are becoming more and more popular now as well, so they will not be outdated.
I like a little bit of both. We named our son Oliver without really knowing just how popular it was. It suits him more than the other names we had picked, like Max, Leo, Kayden and Abel. I guess we mostly go with traditional names. I cant stand names with extra letters added that arent necessary, and that seems to be a very “modern” trend
