Hello!

I find my self cooking similar meals all the time, do you guys have certain meals you cook regularly or do you always cook something different?

  • Yep always get caught in the rut of cooking the same meals and it gets boring. We’ve started getting hello fresh every so often just to mix it up and it provides fresh meal ideas I wouldn’t think of

  • I try and incorporate different ingredients throughout the week. Seasonal fruit and vegies also dictate what I cook.

  • We cook the meals we love on a regular fortnight but you need a variety of meals so you are not having the same meals all the time and get sick of them!

  • Even though I cook similar meals , I like to make it a bit different from the last dish and if there is a lot it becomes next meal leftovers. For example if I have leftover stirfry vegatables and I had it with steamed rice, the next night I may use the same vegetables and make noodles soups from it . We are from Asian culture so we like the rice, soups based meals a lot and it is simple too . It turns an old leftover meal to a new sort of dish .

  • i tend to stick to the same meals, although if i take out mince one week – will make spag bol. 2nd week – will make rissoles.

  • Also; have some favourite regular meals too!

  • Love cooking; new cookbooks and new recipes. Such a pleasure to cook and try new foods.

  • Same meals. I am a poor cook though with 5 kids. Recently got a thermomix so hoping to change that. Regulars are spag bowl, chicken and veg, roast, pizzas

  • I also find myself in a cooking rut. I use google to find new recipes from time to time, looking for those which are simple and that I don’t need to buy too many ingredients for if I don’t already have them at home. Spaghetti bolognese is a regular for tea as are bangers and mash or steak and veg.

  • Time is probably my biggest thing with getting into booking ruts, when I am flat out busy and not planning very well I generally stick with safe and easy. When I find time on the weekends to meal plan I like to try and fit in some different each week. Sometimes difference can be small to changing pasta sauce or type of pasta, changing from pasta to rice, change the mince you use from beef to chicken. You could change a marinade, or book the meat on the BBQ instead of inside on the stove or griller.

  • I found myself in quite a cooking rut too, always cooking the same safe dishes. I was quite bored with my food too. I then forced myself to cook a different meal every day for one month only. I wrote a record of this and now use it as my meal plan. It means we only have spag Bol once a month, as opposed to every week! I also have a list of stand by late night quick dinners too. My meals aren’t gourmet, but they aren’t as repetitive as they used to be.

  • I like something different but I do have my weekly favorites. But diet has alot to do with my food choices.

  • me and my partner both have meals we are really good at and can whip up quickly and we tend to use them a lot but we also cycle through these meals and will not have some of them for a long time and then we will go back to them. a good way to get new recipes in your repertoire is find a recipe you like and buy all the ingrediant in your next shop and cook that the first or second night before you forget. if you like it try it again in a week or 2, no more. then repeat til you have a wide variety of foods

  • Hi! I like trying new recipes, if I can at least once a week. Of course there are some recipes I love and I do regularly. I also turn to them when I’m in a hurry and I don’t have much time to think about what to cook. :-)
