Hello!

Recently, our printer stopped working, and when we looked into it, it was just 4 months out if warranty. It’s not the first time this has happened to us. Do other mums find printers do this to them too? It’s like they are programmed to stop by a set date. Other devices don’t seem to have this same issue for us.

  • Thait is frustrating – it might be worth buying an extended warranty.

  • no. that sucks hey! stuff isn’t made to last anymore.

  • i find that most electronics have a short life now days. i work in the IT industry and nothing is made to last like it used to be.
our coffee machine dies almost the same time every year – unfortunately we bought extended warranty so get it replaced with the same make and model. :l

  • If it is the same brand that you purchased last time , perhaps change brands and see if it is any better. I think it depends on the quality , make , additional functions and whether it is high tech digital or manual. Our printer has lasted over two years so far and has jammed a couple of times which my son fixed and it is still working well. It is a Canon brand . Maybe ring up the manufacturer and tell them of your concern and see what they say about it . It does seem a short amount of time and I’ve had bad luck with my gadgets where it breaks down once warranty expires. Hope you find a solution to it .

  • i would try resetting it as they cost heaps to replace. With ours we have to do a something clean every month or so, when its not prrinting properly. By going into the printers menu.( mine has a little lcd screen on his to do it) And when it stuffs up we reset its connections. By deleating the connection in our computers than re setting it through wifi. I also make sure i do all the updates they send to me to keep the connection going. at its best. Hope this helps…. If not try getting one with the little lcd screen that has a menu on it.

  • I agree – irons tend to give up after a while.

  • Fortunately I haven’t had this problem. I hope your next printer lasts a lot longer.

  • Our printer has lasted years – other appliances – well!

  • That’s terrible. It happened to me with the iron. While my HP All-in-One Printer is still functioning very good after 8 years.
