  • I have a small veggie patch. Currently I have a bunch of different herbs, and stagger growing cos lettuce. I have bean, peas, cucumber, zuchini seedlings just about ready to plant.

  • I haven’t planted anything for winter. Lack of motivation. I still have a couple of tomato plants growing and am surprised they haven’t all shriveled up yet with the cold weather we’ve been having.

  • We have a greenhouse but have been a bit slack with it lately. We started it when we only had one child so had the time but now with two it’s a bit harder.
We have herbs, tomatoes, celery, spinach and potatoes.

  • At the moment I only have potatoes growing.

  • We recently moved so have just started again! We have a tomato bush going NUTS. But I have reestablished my herbs. I love to grow fresh and when it gets really big I prune it back and dry them myself!

  • i have 5 veggie beds atm and 1 full herb garden. im growing carrots,sweet-potato,potato,beetroot,beans and cherry toms. i like growing these veggies as they are easy take little maintenance/preparation and give large tasty crops

  • I had rather a large veggie patch at my last house but I’m just establishing one in my new property. I used to grow seasonal veggies by following the experts suggestions for what should be grown when. I find a raised bed is so much easier to maintain.

  • No :-(
I’ve tried a number of times but can’t keep the bugs out.

  • No, l don’t but l would love to have a veggie patch,so handy!

  • I’ve given up on a veggie patch. I wasn’t having a lot of success.

  • I grew spinach for a while. It got to the point where is was like a rose bush – the more you cut the more it grew back. Had 2 good years from it and have a little come up after.

  • I used to have a vegie patch and what to grow depends on your region and time of year. There are lots of websites or nurseries that can help you with deciding what to plant.

  • It depends where you are in Australia as there are so many different climates for growing things. Best way to find out if to jump on the Diggers website or google your area to find your climate.

  • Hope you have had success with your vegie patch?

  • herbs are so easy and relatively quick to grow. they are pretty hardy as well especially chives
