  • I’ve sewn outfits, dress up clothing, bags, doll/teddy clothing
I’ve knitted jumpers, dresses, poncho’s, hats, scarfs, teddies, socks
I’ve crocheted headbands, bags, clothing, poncho’s, teddies, stars, coasters, curtains
Macrame is pretty cool too; I’ve done plant hangers, curtains, bags
    The possibilities are endless !!

  • I don’t as I never know if people will keep it and then I’ve just wasted my time and money!

  • I love cross-stitch and have made some lovely cards. You can get some really festive little designs from library books and internet (all sorts of baubles and holly and stars that are really quite, small, simple and quick to do).. I’ve also seen cross stitch work added to the edge of face washers, sewn on with lace… so you could perhaps make a gift with cross stitch by embellishing an existing product. And of course there are bookmarks and table napkin holders and things like that too which you could sew / add cross stitch to

  • I wish I could sew to make custom Santa sacks. Instead when I use to work as an embroiderer I made face washers with make up embroidered on them

  • I crochet toys and blankets for gifts I’m also making dream catchers for a couple of my friends who have girls

  • Only just thought of another wonderful useful gift as I passed by the door last night. Draft stoppers or door stops …practical and very handy.

  • My suggestion is bags and more bags. Library bags are always welcome and you can personalise them with the child’s name. Seeing how we now are plastic bag free at the supermarkets, shopping bags go down well and once again you can personalise them with eg : Fruit and Vegg, cleaning, bathroom products etc. Also if you have any old jeans or jean shorts they are terrific turned into shoulder bags and once again can be lovenly personalised with studs and gems. You can also make Santa sacks or stockings. Wishing you well and heaps of fun.

  • If I could sew, I would definitely sew presents for family and friends. I do knit and have knitted for a couple of friend kids and they’ve been well received. I don’t do it often though

  • That is sooo cool! I can’t sew but I love receiving gifts which are. I feel blankets and throws are the best because they can be personalised or made to suit the persons home decor. A beautiful co-worker of mine made my son a personalised Sesame Street cot blanket because she knew how much he loved the show.

  • Pjs for the kids & adults alike last year. This year I have sewn some xmas shirts but will give them out December 1st
I have also made tote bags, library bags, I have done personalised stockings for everyone in our family (& their pets)

My girls love their dolls having matching outfits with them, so I make some of those.
Also or my teen nieces I have sewn a few things and am giving each a hamper with little goodies, including scrunchies, jewellery pouches (pattern from pinterest), makeup brush rolls/holders, personalised towel set for some, for others I have made patchwork quilts

This year I am aiming to gift as many home made things as possible.

  • I wish I had that talent i bake gifts though

  • Yes I love to sew/ make gifts. This can be anything like bags, head band, clothes, dress up clothes, doll clothes (one year I did for all the kids an uniform the same as their for their dolls or teddy bears). I also crocheted stars one year and stiffened them in sugar water as a Christmas tree decoration.

  • I don’t personally sew or make presents but I do like to buy from local people around my town. I like to buy blankets, bags, headbands, jewellery. I love homemade gifts (just not good at it myself haha)

  • Tote bags are always welcome, easy to make, and can be decorated to personalise them.

  • It is a good idea to checkout clearance sections for fabric and other items for sewing.
I often find absolute bargains and it is so good to create personalised gifts for family and friends.
