  • I use a mix of both types of bags, depending on what I need them for. The shops don’t supply single use bags like they did, so generally use the ones they offer now multiple times before it tears apart.

  • Mixture of both. I reuse the fruit and veg bags as nappy bags though, especially when out and about

  • yes reusable bags are the way to go for fruit and veg.i use multix ones which cost 3.20 for three bags they are cheap, reusable and even washable. everyone must buy them

  • When there are any plastic bags coming in our house they’re reused. For example in the swim bags to put damp towels & swimmers in, in the school bags to put the sport shoes in and in the bin instead of buying bin bags, However nowadays we hardly get any plastic bags anymore so we have to buy our plastic bin bags.

  • I use some of the plastic bags to put fruit and veggies in at the supermarket, however i try to minimize this, and then i will re use any that I have as rubbish bags at home, so they are getting a second use. I always use my fabric or reusable bags for my grocery shopping though and always carry one of those little material ones that scrunch up tiny, in my handbag to have on hand when needed.

  • I have a couple of bags full of plastic bags, they’re slowly reducing now I have to pay for them

  • I do still use plastic bags as I reuse them around the house as rubbish bags. I have a variety of reusable bags too though.

  • I use the re-usable ones. We have to pay for plastic bags in our shopping centres so I take my own re-usable ones

  • I”m trying to minimize my use of plastic bags. Taking my own enviro bags to the shops, using containers in the freezer when I portion out bulk purchases ect.
Coles and safeway have a great program where you can return your plastic packaging to them and it gets recycled into other things. So a lot of the wrappings around our drygoods can go back to the to them.

  • I am afraid I do but they never just get thrown away. I use them in the house for cleaning the cat litter and as bin liners for the rubbish.

  • I do! But i say everytime I need to get the reusable ones and forget!

  • Only for bin liners and the nappy bags, i use the reusable ones for everything else!

  • Mostly I just use them for bin liners.

  • Yes still use them as they are allowed in WA. Sometimes do not have enough bags for groceries so must use them. These are used for other purposes at home, great for rubbish bins. I have used them in packing for protection then they become rubbish bags after that. Years ago stuffed a toy with them , a dinosaur as it was a hint this was safer then beans for young children. My son still has this dinosaur and his daughter uses the toy. If too many at home will take the shopping ones with the other plastic bags from food items to Coles for the bin there as it goes somewhere to be recycled.

  • I still use plastic bags (although I know it is bad) – I need the bags for my rubbish!

What do people do for rubbish bags who only use the reusable grocery bags?
