I haven’t been to our local show for ages because of the ridiculous entrance fees. I don’t understand why because we are still paying for all rides and food. The entrance fees to these events should be more reasonable.
The price is actually fair, as my local show costs $20 per adult at the gate and the Ekka is ALOT bigger then ours. But if you hunt around you can always get a cheaper price. If we buy ours earlier it’s cheap and so is family passes, just like the Ekka. Next year for our holiday we are going to the Ekka (will not be going to our local one) and I’ll be hunting on their website as I know it’s a lot cheaper if you buy earlier.
Just looked up the prices and yes a bit excessive. As most people do buy something inside , why so dear. Even the discounts for buying earlier still are not enough. How does an average family afford these prices.
The entry cost to the Brisbane Ekka is way too expensive. If you arrive at 9am or 10am spend your money buying food and drink, paying for rides and game stalls etc, paying for showbags and all the other merchandise that is on sale. The you go home about 2-3pm, what are you getting for your ridiculous outlay of $25 for pensioners and $30 for individuals. just to get in the gate. You are not there at night for fireworks or ringside events, and who wants to pay to see a cow or a chicken. Its about time people objected out loud to these greedy prices imposed on the poor. Really pensioners $25. That’s insane. They charge the rides and stalls operators large rents as well, that’s why they have to be so expensive and hard to get prizes. Time for large shakeup.
