Hello!

When you buy any sort if packaged food, do you worry about the ingredients? Some of them have a lot of numbers in them. Do you think it’s a health risk or ok because it’s allowed to be sold and on the shelf ?

  • I try not to buy too many processed foods, but generally I don’t worry if we are only eating these types of foods occasionally.

  • I am very conscious of what ingredients are in the foods I am consuming. I prefer where possible to make my food from scratch.

  • Yes. I try not to buy processed goods as who knows that goes into it and all those numbers – not natural in my opinion!

  • yeah i have had a overhaul of eating habits so try to buy more fresh stuff.

  • I have a son with an egg and nut allergy, so I’m usually more preoccupied with making sure they don’t contain those.

  • I worry and no I do not trust companies. there have been many things in recent history where they have found out later it can be harmful, there are things banned in some countries that are allowed here and the recent hep a issue with frozen berries packed overseas is another concern. Unfortunately I don’t see a way around it – I can’t afford organic but I try to always but Australian

  • We aim to buy as much fresh food as possible instead of packaged.

  • I try not to buy packaged foods. Things like yoghurt cant be helped and cereals. I always check the sugar content and make sure its as low as possible. Numbers don’t mean much to me to be honest. I have always thought as long as the food is not rainbow in colours (like fruitloops) then it should be ok in small doses.

  • Thank you for your comments

  • I try to avoid packaged food as much as possible not only due to the preservatives but also due to all the added sugars in products.

  • if your family is prone to allergies or reactions to some foods it can be a worry. But to know what they all mean can be a worry it would make it so much easier if they just said what they all were instead of using numbers

  • That’s exactly why I avoid buying packaged products. Best way to avoid all this us to stick to fresh natural food
