  • I’ve had the flu vaccine twice and both times it was painless and I didn’t catch the flu.

  • Even though only my youngest gets the flu vaccin and the rest of us 5 not, we’re never sick. There’s so much more you can do to protect yourself against the flu, besides the vaccin

  • My youngest has Down Syndrome and I always make sure she gets the flu shot every winter, whilst the rest of our house hold doesn’t get one.

  • Most definately get the Flu vaccine if I didnt the Nursing Home would not let me visit my Dad.

  • Yes we all do as we have 5 children and don’t want to get sick. The first time we got it a few of us got sick, but the following year we didn’t. I have found that if I get sick I’m no where near as bad as I used to be.

  • I had the flu shot this year for the first time. There were no side effects. It cost me $25 and it was administered by nurses at my GP’s office.

  • I would get it if it was more readily available – not just immunocompromised, elderly or children

  • I always get the shot as I work in medical assistive roles but have never had a bad reaction and after seeing this years flu I’ll make sure I keep getting them.

  • I ca’t have it for medical reasons but I’d be in two minds whether to if I could …. I hear so many people complain of side effects and still get sick even once they’ve had it! However, it is scary and alarming how many people have died from the flu over the last year or two, that it makes you wonder that the initial reaction may not be so bad …..

  • I had this years one and i had a really bad reaction to it. Felt horrible and had a rash over my body

  • Yes, we all do, children included. Better to be safe than sorry in my opinion.

  • I’m sceptical of the flu shot. It really hasn’t proven that it works. How can every year the flu gets worse and yet more and more people are getting the flu shot. Is the flu shot the actual problem and people aren’t getting immune to the flu anymore? Is there some biggest conspiracy going on? I think these are the questions we need to ask ourselves. Don’t get me wrong I vaccinate my children with all the other childhood vaccinations as they have proven to make sure my children don’t get sick from illnesses.

  • YES!!! This year the flu is very virulent so it is a must!!! EVERYBODY including little ones.

  • I’ve always worked in the medical field so it was a requirement of my work. Now that I’m out, I’m not bothering this year. It really is personal preference.

  • i always get it now. And so do my kids. They are 2 and 3 now, but 2 years ago they both got influenza A and it was horrible. My then 23 month old basically didn’t eat for a week and lost a kg in weight. He was also skinny and this didn’t help, so he dropped a couple of rungs on the weight scale. And it was so sad to see my 8 moth old just lying on the bouncer all day and barely moving. It scared me so much that i won’t go without it now for everyone.
