Hello!

Does anyone listen to the radio? I find commercial stations are full of ads. Do Mums have any suggestions for good stations?

  • It is such a shame now that not many people listen to the radio these days and yes there are way too many commercials

  • I often listen to the radio in the car. I switch between a few of the local stations.

  • I have the radio going most days. Hubby has started using online stations. I’ve found Coles radio to be really good. Lots of music and not many ads, and all ads are for Coles products

  • i flip between whenever a song comes on that i don’t like, ads etc

  • I have the radio going nearly all day! Great fir winning things! In Hobart, the ones I listen to are 7HOFM on 101.7 and HeartFM on 107.3.

  • I generally list to Triple J in the car or we plug in our phones to the system and listen to our own music through there or Pandora. I like Pandora because you can change up the stations depending on your mood and really customize it.

  • No I don’t, although I probably should.
I just pop the ipod in the dock & listen that.
I do find it hard to keep up with the latest music & I do miss the news updates which I usually follow on Facebook.

  • In Melbourne Smooth FM 91.5 is my choice, give it a go!

  • I mostly listen to 5AA talkback. Yes, there is ads during the shows but you can learn a lot of information from listening. On Sat. and Sun. mornings they have gardening experts on. One night a week after midnight they have a Vet. About 5.00am one morning the have an astrologist – a guy who knows about the planets – when they will be most visible etc., when spacecraft will being going over, the formation of some stars.

  • I’m a single mum,I listen to radio 2KO FM Newcastle, everyday I love the music the jokes the company, competitions would be lost without it.

  • I use Pandora, its an online radio station that you enter music you like and it adds music that is similar, you can also add a filter so there is no explicit music on it. there are still a few adds unless you pay for it but no where near as much as whats on everyday radio

  • No! I can’t stand the radio. We live in a regional area and there’s only a couple of stations. I can’t wait for digital radio to come to our area.

  • Thanks Bec101 – will take a look – good answer. :)

  • I never listen to the radio. So terrible of me! :-)

  • You could use something like Pandora or Spotify. You can pick your own genre of music to listen to (but be careful… It uses Internet) or get a digital radio (they have more stations but I’m not sure how he ads work)
