Hello!

I was just thinking the other day does anyone actually send Christmas cards anymore? I loved receiving them when I was little I would get so excited when I went to the mail box to find someone actually sent us a card.

  • Last year (2021) I sent Christmas cards as it was my sons first Christmas so I got pics done and ordered cards on snap fish!

  • I do occasionally, but not very many anymore.

  • Yes I did and so did everyone else except the inlaws side and they were surprised because to them it is outdated . I don’t post any , only if I see them , I give it .

  • I absolutely love sending & receiving Christmas cards. I keep all the cards I get.
For the past few years I have been doing photo cards with photos of my daughter and family.
I also get excited about giving gifts too – I love Christmas and special occasions. They should be celebrated.

  • I am planning to make it a Christmas tradition for our family =) We haven’t really done so in the past, or I’ve done them and forgotten to send them (OOPS lol). But we are doing cards for the kids classes for school, kindy and daycare, and then I am going to do up a list of family friends and family to send Christmas cards too, and maybe a little Christmas package… movie, microwave popcorn, balloons, and some christmas crackers (the bang things lol).

  • Like you, I love receiving mail in the post that is not actually a bill! So, I figured that if I want nice mail, I had better send it myself. I try to get organised each year and at least send half a dozen cards to friends.

I also like to send random postcards to my friends’ children because they love to get mail too!

  • I do but dont get many back

  • They dont and they should! kids cant enjoy emails or Facebook posts, I think we should all start a snail mail card revolution!

  • I still send cards to people who live far away ,as I like to think of them ,to let them know we care .

  • Most of the people my Mum and I used to send them to have passed away so the list is gradually going down. I have also deleted a couple of people I never hear back from even after sending letters. One requested some motorsport programs as souviners as trhey collect them. I have contacted them twice to come and get them if they want them but have had no response. Obviously they don’t really want them. One elderly friend in ther mid to late 80s I don’t send a card to any more as she had a stroke and didn’t open it. However I do keep in contact with her son by email and the occasional card thart he can read to her. To look at her the is no difference but she can’t talk properly or understand waht she tries to read. She is attending therapy sessions and improving very slowly. One of my uncles has had a lot of mini strokes. I keep in contact with his son via email, phone and now Christmas Cards which he can show his Dad but he has no concept of them. A couple of my girlfriends and I exchange Christmas Cards with the year’s news in thenm.
Both of them have children who are heavily involved with sports and one now has a grandchild as well.

  • I still do but only about 10 or so. I hand deliver most of them

  • No. Personal emails with chatty news is what I now do. It enables me to use a template and cut and paste to tailor the letter to each person.

  • It does seem to not being done as much as a few years ago but I always send Christmas Cards because I enjoy sending them. If I get a card in return that is nice but not essential.

  • I actually bothered making a Christmas card display last Christmas and I only received three cards to put on it. Still, I’m trying to get back into the Christmas card spirit and will do the same thing this year.

  • I used to be one of the first to get my cards and get them out.

I still get them for my kids to give at school.

And I do send only one to my best friend 2500kms away…..BUT…… this year I have decided to make a donation to charity and let my friends and family know this is what I have done instead of sending cards.
