Hello!

Does my little one have CHICKEN POX? She’s been immunized, has no temp or illness but has lots of little red spots on her tummy and back.  Has anyone else had their children get chicken pox after immunization? Thanks MoMs – would be interested to hear from other mums, Janie.

  • Does sound like chicken pox, you can still get it after being immunised

  • A good question! There are really interesting comments on this!

  • My son was vaccinated and he got chicken pox, it was very mild with no fever, this is a photo of some of the spots when they started to appear

  • If ever in doubt, go straight to a dr or hospital. Better to over react than not react at all. Speaking from experience.

  • Yes our son was immunised and then had the chicken pox and two years after had shingles – we were told that n the early days of developement they vaccines were developed properly so they didn’t offer the best protection. Although chicken pox are annoying getting a natural exposure to them as a kid is best. Just watch out for shingles in later years.

  • Could be but take her to the dr just to be sure.

  • yes defibitely . did u take her to dr?

  • Yes – it is possible to get chicken pox even if you have been immunized for them – both my nephews had it last year and they had.

  • Did you find out from the doctor? Was it chicken pox?

  • Sometimes it can just be a reaction from the immunization, seeing a Dr though would be the best option to be safe.

  • The mid wives told us that you can get a mild case from having the injection but our girls didn’t thankfully

  • How did she go. Have the spots cleared.

  • My daughter did get a very mild case shortly after being immunised. She wasn’t very sick and recovered well.

  • I hope things worked out well for you

  • Kids get a lot of rashes. I wouldn’t worry if they have been immunized. I hv not heard of anyone getting them after being immunized!
