  • Personally I tried every possible wives tale to make my son come naturally from 37 weeks. None of them worked and he happily popes out naturally at just over 40 weeks. If it makes you feel better go for it but from experience no old wives tale works!

  • The raspberry tea leaf helps with the contractions and making your uterine muscles stronger and more coordinated for when you contract. The evening primrose oil is the one that softens the cervix. I think it helped me in my second as i religiously took it when I was 36 weeks and i had an easy and quick labor at 39 weeks. =)

  • I suppose if it works it works and if it doesn’t it doesn’t

  • I only used it really close to the end of my pregnancies. The last one I had totally forgotten about it but got a cold close to my due date and it works very well at getting rid of colds during pregnancy. It is also good for healing after labour. I believe it works but it could also be different for each person.

  • I am guessing it depends on the person it worked for my sister but not my sister in law

  • I have heard raspberry leaf tea is good but always check with your doctor or midwife.

  • I drank it for both my kids and had very different experiences for them. I’m not sure if it actually works or only works for some people!

  • I had the tablet form of RLT. I also took evening primrose oil for the last 2 or 3 weeks.
My labour was quicker and calmer. Maybe just coincidence. My girlfriend also took those 2 for all 3 of her babies and she had good birthing experiences

  • I would always check with your birthing team as they will be able to dispel the fact and fiction of myths.

  • i don’t know, i stuck to the safe and boring stuff during pregnancy lol. maybe ask your doc or middie, get a professional opinion.
