Hello!

We’re looking to get 3 dwarf fruit trees to fill some space in our garden. Do you have any recommendations for varieties that produce great fruit etc? We already have lemon, plum, nectarine & quince trees. Thanks!

  • I ended up getting a dwarf lemon tree. Only three or four lemons at a time so far.

  • Ive heard that spiltzer trees are good as they have 2 kinds of fruit on one tree. Not sure if they are dwarf though.

  • We have a dwarf lemon tree. Hasn’t been too successful as yet but I live in hope things will improve

  • This question has actually spurred me to look into getting my own fruit salad tree.

  • Check with your local garden centre to see what Grossi n your area. I love citrus but it doesn’t grow where I live. They will be able to give advice on what will suit.

  • What an excellent idea for those of us with limited space. I watched Sunrise this morning and they spoke of a tree that grew lemon, limes and grapefruit (or oranges, not sure) on the one tree! Great for limited space too

  • I have dwarf lime, mandarin and lemon trees. I have a Lots’a’Lemons which I’ve only had a little while and already have quite a few lemons on it!

Unfortunately I haven’t been consistent with my fertilising and watering of my lime and mandarin so we haven’t had much fruit with that.

Good luck with what you have. Sounds great!

  • Peach trees are lovely to add to your collection.

  • We currently have a lemonade miniature only planted this year so have to wait til next year to see how size of crop goes. Although not a miniature plant I have one blueberry bush kept in a medium sized planter on wheels and it’s easy to keep it to a small bush which has produced a substantial amount of blueberries each season. Gave my in-laws a blood orange citrus which they have been cutting to keep as a tub plant, this too has given great crops. I see a lot of miniature apple trees at our local nursery but have yet to try them out myself so couldn’t say how well they crop.

  • We had a beautiful peach tree and have also planted a cherry tree. Although what you should be planting would be based on your climate. Best to speak to a local nursery.

  • not sure. you have to see what your local nursery stocks as bunnings has a great range but not an extensive one

  • My neighbour has a peach dwarf tree and he’s very happy with it! :-)
