I was in my early 40ties and it started with irregular periods and sometimes unusual long and heavy periods, followed by hot flushes, insomnia, PMS, mood swings etc
You might be going through perimenopause (the lead-up to menopause) or menopause. Either way there are natural supplements you can get that help with the symptoms. Typical symptoms are hot flushes, moodiness, fatigue, worsening PMS symptoms, anxiety and insomnia. One of the natural supplements you can get is remifemen which you can get readily from chemists. There are also many other supplements available. If you are worried, I suggest you get a blood test from your doctor.
Get help if you are struggling with the symptoms of menopause as there are many traditional and non traditional ways to manage menopause. There is no need to suffer.
I went through menopause at 42 and one of the worst symptoms was insomnia for years!!! I am still not a great sleeper 20 years on. I tried all the natural remedies to no avail but was not on hormone replacement therapy. I also found it very isolating as none of my friends were going through the same thing as me and couldn’t really relate to my extreme tiredness. When they experienced it themselves they really understood.
I haven’t gone through it yet but my mum was 39-40 when she started getting symptoms. It started with irregular periods then she had hot flushes, night sweats, major random PMS and pimples.
I have not experienced this – a long way off – but have friends who have experienced menopause and they all had different experiences. Some struggled and some found it an easy transition.
I would love to have gone through early menopause, I’m so sick and tired of the pain and discomfort of the monthly period. Alas, it’s not to be. It’s genetic try say, my mum was in her late 50s when she started. So I’ve got a decade to go…
