Hello!

“taking my 4 year old on his first camping trip. I pee at least once a night, maybe more when it’s cold. I’m scared to walk the 25metres to the toilet in case my 4 year old wakes up, sees im not there and comes looking for me and gets lost in the bush. Is there any products that you can take to use in the tent or outside the tent to pee in? We believe the camping site may be packed as its the easter weekend. please help by sharing your first camping trip advice?”

  • Firstly, have a chat with him about not leaving the rent if you’re not there, for safety reasons. He’s old enough to understand that, whether he listens is another story. Other then that……PEE QUICK ????????

  • You could explain to your 4 yo that if they should wake through the night and you’re nowhere to be seen, tell him not to worry, you’ll just be going to the toilet and will be back real soon. Make sure they understand to not leave the tent by himself at night

  • Port a loos, or set up your camp close to the amenties as others have said. We just took our kids on their first camping trip, and you definitely need to just try the one night first especially with the really young ones. That way you can work out what works best next time around. There are also heaps of cool camping ‘hacks’ on pinterest that are worth checking out.

  • HeHe! Or set your tent up close to the Amenities block! ;)

  • A Porta Loo is good or even a bucket with lid.

  • Port a loo they are great

  • Hope your trip went well. I was going to say theres a product designed for women to pee standing. But if the campsites going to be packed it’s probably not a good idea!
