First fathers day without - Mouths of Mums

Hello!

Struggling today with Father’s Day it’s yhe first one without my father in-law I’m finding it hard to make a big fuss of hubby as it’s so connected to him not having his dad today … it’s such a hard day how do you all do father’s day…still doing things for him just with a heavy heart

I feel for you, the first one without them is really hard. I have lost both my dad and FIL, so I tend to avoid places where people are celebrating with theirs.

I find the first Christmas is very difficult too, and next birthdays for all family members who miss the deceased person too.

My thoughts are with you. All those firsts when we lose a love one are very hard. It does get a little easier as time goes but those we have lost are always in our thoughts. I have lost my father so it is hard for me having to buy my father-in-law gifts when I don’t have my father here. I still do it though.
