After you’ve tried hiding them in dishes and involving him in preparing etc. you could try explaining how good they are for him (like you can add 10 years to your life and ward off many diseases by eating them). As he is an older child he may understand. Let him see you eating them and the problems that you can develop if you don’t eat them.
Get him to help prepare and cook them… Find pictures of his favorite people, Hero’s etc eating veggies (google would have some, it has everything) good luck
Whilst it is a short term solution to ‘hide’ veggies it doesn’t really address the issue of kids not wanting to eat them. We tried a lot of different veggies and also different ways of cooking veggies. I could get them to eat minted peas but not peas, cauliflower with cheese sauce but not without cheese sauce, corn on the cob but not corn kernels, carrots with honey but not without the honey, scalloped potatoes or roast potatoes but not boiled potatoes. Just keep trying different things…
Get him involved in growing, choosing recipes and cooking them. In the mean time hide veggies in things like bolganaise sauce, burgers, meatloaf, lasange, sauces, etc (zucchini, mushrooms, etc work well)
The best way I found is to get them involved. Get a small vegie garden going and get him to grow his own vegies. He has to plant, water, look after and then pick his vegies. He will be very proud of what he has done. he should then want to eat them. then when you are at the shop you can show him the vegies like the ones he grew and he may eat them again. Also getting him involved in the cooking sometimes works too.
