Hello!

Good products for treating Eczema – My little man (5 mths), has Eczema, we’ve tried Hopes remedy, curash moisturiser, dermeze ointment and Aveeno baby moisturizer. The doctor put us on dermaid cortisone cream which helped with cracked skin, can anyone recommend something to help with the red skin?

  • Was going to suggest dermeze but you’ve tried it. Make sure you moisturise within a few min of a bath for a ‘soak and seal’ to keep moisture in. Moisturising regularly in general is good! And don’t wash too often. Hopefully they grow out of it especially as winter ends

  • My sons dermatologist prescribed Advantan Fatty Ointment. You only use a little bit until the excezma is completely gone. If works straight away but is by prescription only.

  • I suffered badly as a child … Mum stopped giving me cows milk and used pure emu oil…straight from the emu farm.

  • we try nyal eczema cream and that works fast and is pretty affordable. i have just found a new product (new to me) that you can get at the pharmacy called physiogel. there is a whole range of cream, lotion and shower gel and is perfect for babies and all type of skin conditions. check it out and ask your pharmacist about it.

  • coconut oil is all natural and soothing, maybe try that. Goats milk soap may also help.

  • aveeno was the best for us.

  • Did you find a product that worked well?

  • what did you end up doing?

  • Some really good recommendations below.

  • I love all of the QV products as they work really well for us

  • What did you end up doing differently?

  • QV is what we use for everything
    QV body wash
    QV moisterising cream
    QV powder
    QV Cream

  • MooGoo. You won’t regret it

  • Consider looking into the Moogoo range from health food stores.

  • The only thing that worked on my son’s eczema was Garden Of Eden Oil from Herbalink (online store). It’s a natural product. Goat’s milk soap is good, so is Moo Goo & QV oil. Unfortunately these are a little expensive.
