ANON: My daughter is nearly 2 and she had a fall nearly 2 weeks ago as I was dropping her off at daycare, she seemed to land a bit awkwardly but didn’t think much of it at the time. Daycare called not long after I dropped her off while I was on the way to work and said how she seems to be in pain, refusing to walk but when she did taking 2-3 steps before falling to the fall crying. I picked her up and took her straight to the doctors and even had an X-ray done of her leg, no breaks or fractures. She was still refusing to walk a couple of days later, so took her back to doctors who advised to give her pain relief and lots of encouragement to walk, if not walking, go back. She still wasn’t walking, so back to the doctors who checked her out again (keep in mind, first time at the doctors when the fall happened, she flinched at the doctor putting slight pressure on her right shin area) no reaction to any movements or pressure to the ankle, leg and hips, but when they tried to get her to stand and walk, she refused. The doctor believed it may just be her confidence has taken a hit (she was late to walk too and wasn’t very confident)
I’m now concerned again since she still isn’t walking but has been trying to stand again on her own without holding anything, and even took a couple of steps at my mums place, but daycare called to let me know when they put her down for a nap, one of the educators tried to adjust/move her and they touched her right leg and she flinched and seemed to be in pain, almost crying.
I will be taking her to the doctors again tonight.
My question is, has anyone been through something similar? Did it end up being a confidence hit or am I possibly missing something?
