  • Okay, I know this is an old question, but Ikea is relatively new to my region. And I love it. Great source of decent quality furniture in a reasonable price range.

  • I’ve only been once and although the products are good I probably won’t go back. I can find the same or better products closer to home.

  • Oh yes. We even went just for breakfast or coffee on a Saturday mornings, lol. I’m not visiting Ikea that often anymore but when I look for something and I see online that Ikea has a good option then I’m heading off to get it.

  • I have been to lkea and it wasn’t anything special to me but l know people who love the store!

  • I didn’t like the ‘prison effect’ of needing to walk a long way to get to an exit. Felt trapped and too much to look at so it became overwhelming. Placed like goods are in a standard shop I would have probably been inclined to buy. But as it is I won’t be going back.

  • yep, wear comfy shoes, it is so big! I also recommend looking at their catalogue before you go, and have an idea of what you want to buy. I effectively bought $200 worth of ‘shit I don’t need’ and have put in cupboards LOL

  • Opps hit send before I could complete answer. I bought a few years ago big drawers x 3 for $500 each. For one of them, the finish on them chipped and flaked all over, even if just by wiping with a tissue. I had them for 11 months (during time of first baby) so rining ikea about my drawers was last on my list of things to do. Eleven months in, full exchange for new. They knew of a problem with some of them. Very easy for customer service issues in this case.

  • Yes. I really like Ikea but its best to go on a planned trip and not spur of the moment. My tips are to park as close to the store, leave kids at home. Also allow more time than first thought.

  • Our whole family has been to Ikea since the store first opened in Homebush . Back then the VIP card was good and get free hot drink , now they cut that back and you can get cheap bottled water instead for $1. Also it is good if you are a bit handy and don’t mind putting furniture together yourself. I like the cheap kitchware and got myself a nice wooden salad bowl which I don’t see much these days . Lots of good nic nacs…

  • Great products at a cheap price – I find whatever they advertise they rarely have in stock. Makes it easy to change your look in your home when you can get funky stuff cheap

  • I LOVE Ikea. Good value for money and you can look on their website for ideas on how to style rooms cheaply.

  • no i don’t live near one. it is a mixed bag of opinions. some love, some hate, some love to hate lol.

  • Canberra store is open now! Am going to wait a little bit until the excitement of it dies down a bit and go and have a look myself!

  • I am looking forward to a trip to IKEA!

  • I’ve still got everything I bought. And I made the first purchases around 10 years ago.
