  • Yes, I went back in the 90’s. You are supposed to dress modestly, so cover up as much as possible.

  • Years ago, but I don’t imagine it’s changed much. Common courtesy – there wasn’t much extra protocol. Dress modestly, and have something to hand to cover your hair.

  • I thought the Vatican was open to the public, pilgrims, the poor etc. So I would have thought all sorts of dress was acceptable

  • My brother has been but he always wears a shirt and jacket! Smart casual dress,no thongs!

  • Dress modestly – no cleavage, try to avoid bare legs. You don’t need a hat.

  • I have been there but a while ago. I remember it was a very hot summer and I had to cover my shoulders to go in. This is the only thing. Not only there but other churches in Italy requested the same.

  • i don’t know but look up the government’s travel advice website- safetotravel or something similar to that.

  • You’re off to the Vatican? Oooo, how exciting, would love to join you! I’ve never been so can’t help with other questions

  • Would love to go to the Vatican.
