  • making cheese at home is very easy just remember to start basic. A really good place to look at is green living Australia they sell basic kits with all you need to get started making cheese. start simple with soft cheese and if you love it move on to hard and semi-hard cheese. i had alot of fun doing it and just making ricotta and mozzarella are super easy freeze well and can be used in so many recipes

  • I’ve recently watched a Youtube video on making cheese and it looks very easy. Not sure if I’d do it though.

  • I’ve seen them make ricotta cheese on tv. It looks easy enough and I would love to try making it

  • Making my own cheese is something I’ve never thought of doing. Sounds interesting though.

  • I have made paneer cheese many times. Simply heat full cream milk on the stove until almost boiling, then slowly stir through an acid source either lemon juice, vinegar or yoghurt and gently stir through until curds form. Then drain, place in a muslin bag and press with a weight and that’s it. Ricotta cheese is made the same way without pressing into a firmer shape.

  • My husbands job is a cheese maker. He’d kill me if he came home and found me making it in the kitchen.

  • I’m going to invest in the book also, got some friends who did a course on a weekend, said it was fun and now Im really keen to get making myself!

  • Thanks for the answer Lisa and for the cheese book recommendation. :)

  • We love making cheese! We started with ricotta using a recipe from the internet but then discovered a cheese making supply shop and have since made mozerella and then made bread with the whey. Its heaps easier than you’d think and great fun and yummy. We have the book “home cheese making” by Ricki Carroll, lots of tips and recipes.

  • Thanks for the answers – will look up Julie Goodwin and My Kitchen Rules.

  • I’ve made Labne and it was really easy. From memory it was just greek yoghurt and salt. I used a Julie Goodwin recipe and it was delicous. Only thing I’d do differently next time is halve the recipe as it makes quite a lot.

  • I haven’t. But I saw them make it on My Kitchen Rules. It was basic ingredients like milk and lemon juice. Strain it through a cloth. It looked really easy anyhow, easy enough that I want to make some

  • No l never thought about making cheese,it is so easy just to buy it! It would be interesting to know how!
